August 27, 2006 ~ First day of fall lessons and classes.
Holiday Flute & Harp Studio Recital Sunday, December 9, 2006 at 2pm at the Towne Square Community Center in Steiner Ranch. Our holiday recital featured flute and harp students from the combined studios of Karmen Suter and Kela Walton. Performances included a Holiday Harp Ensemble, Duets, and a Flute and Harp ensemble with all of the students performing together. Congratulations to my students Lydia Cash, Eirene Chang, Adriana Cox, Linda Goodman, Erin Park Markert, and Lauren Winters for their wonderful performances.
January 27, 2007 ~ Congratulations to Erin Park Markert who received a First Division rating for her performance in the High School UIL Solo & Ensemble competition. Erin is now qualified to participate in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in May.
May 5, 2007 ~ The adult harp ensemble performed at their very first gig at the Crestview Baptist Church's annual ladies tea and luncheon. Ensemble members included: Eirene Chang, Adriana Cox, Linda Godsey, Linda Goodman, and Nancy Wehmer. Congratulations to the ensemble for all of their hard work learning over 20 ensemble pieces throughout the year. Their efforts resulted in a large repertoire and a wonderful one hour performance this spring.
May 12, 2007 ~ Congratulations to Erin Park Markert and Lauren Winters for successfully completing the two-part 2007 Music Education Auditions presented by the Austin Chapter of the American Harp Society.
June 30, 2007 ~ Lauren Winters performed with the Longhorn Music Camp Harp Ensemble. One of seven harpists to attend Longhorn Music Camp Harp Week 2007, Lauren spent the week studying with UT harp professor Delaine Fedson and guest instructor Megan Metheney.
August 19, 2007 ~ Blue Lake session 4 harp majors Emma Burck and Chloe Schmitz gave an outstanding recital in Blodgett Recital Hall. Both students performed solos beautifully, played several duets with each other and joined with the elective harp students in a large ensemble performance of Triptic Dance. I thoroughly enjoyed working with these two outstanding students this summer in Michigan. |

Holiday Harp Ensemble Concert & Studio Party Sunday, December 4, 2005 at 3pm at the Towne Square Community Center in Steiner Ranch Thank you to everyone who worked so hard made our Holiday concert such a success, especially the Cox family. I am so proud of the performance by the ensemble; the performers all did such a great job and thank you to everyone who attended.
February 4, 2006 ~ Congratulations to Erin Park Markert for her performance in the High School UIL Solo & Ensemble competition. Erin performed her category one solo from memory and received a First Division rating! Due to her solo choice and first division rating she is now qualified to participate in the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in May.
February 19, 2006 at 3pm ~ Our first Studio Class will meet here at my studio. Monthly studio class dates for this spring are now posted on the 2005-2006 Studio Calendar.
February 23-25, 2006 ~ Lacy Jones and Nancy Mabry Wehmer attended the Harp Journeys Festival in Houston, TX and performed in the festival harp ensembles concert on Saturday February 25, 2006. I am so proud of both of these students for working hard and learning a lot of ensemble music in a very short time.
April 7, 2006 ~ Amy Holloway and Erin Park Markert performed beautifully with 12 other harpists under the direction of Ayren Huslig in the 2006 Austin Youth Harp Ensemble Concert at Westlake High School.
May 6, 2006 ~ Congratulations to Erin Park Markert for successfully completing the two-part 2006 Music Education Auditions and Evaluations process presented by the Austin Chapter of the American Harp Society.
Spring Flute & Harp Recital Saturday May 27, 2006 at 2pm & 7pm ~ Our Spring chamber music recital featured flute and harp students from the combined studios of Karmen Suter and Kela Walton and was a great success. July 24, 2006 ~ Samantha Gardner won the award of Best Instrumental Performance for her harp solo at the International Cinderella Scholarship Pageant in Las Vegas where she competed in the Miss category against over 60 other girls. June 21, 2006 ~ Congratulations to Samantha Gardner for her solo harp performance during the talent portion of the 2006 Texas State Cinderella Scholarship Pageant in Dallas, TX. She qualified to perform at the International competition in Las Vegas in July. |

June 2004 ~ Samantha, a ten-year-old beginning student in her first year of lessons, gave her first public harp performance at the State Cinderella Pageant in Houston, TX. Congratulations on a successful debut and a wonderful performance!
