Music for a
typical wedding ceremony includes... Prelude ~ I perform approximately 20 minutes of music while the guests are being seated. This music is typically soft and romantic background music that combines with the location and flowers to set the desired mood for the occasion. Processional ~ Music performed while the members of the wedding party and the bride walk down the isle. Some couples choose to have more than one processional piece, especially if the wedding party is large or if there are small children acting as ring bearers and flower girls, with a separate processional for the bride. Couples can also request a special processional selection for the seating of mothers and grandmothers. Processionals are calm pieces performed at a gentle walking tempo. The Ceremony ~ Interludes of music can be requested for moments during the ceremony itself such as: communion, signing of the family bible, or lighting the unity candle, etc. Recessional ~ Music performed while the bride & groom and members of the wedding party recess back down the isle. This music is typically one short piece that is faster in tempo with a joyful and jubilant tone. Postlude ~ 5-10 minutes of music immediately after the recessional while the guests exit. I strive to help you create the ceremony you want. Not every part of the ceremony has to be played by the harp. For example, you may want your church organist to play the processional or recessional, or perhaps you would like a vocalist to sing a solo prior to the ceremony, all of these and many more possibilities can be arranged. |
